Jannik Sinner won his maiden Grand Slam at the 2024 Australian Open, and now he will be unstoppable, according to Nick Kyrgios.
Kyrgios was a commentator for Eurosport during the Australian Open, which gave him a front-row seat to all matches there. He saw Sinner play up close and was amazed by what the Italian managed to do in the semi-final against Novak Djokovic.
He was even more inspired by Sinner’s performance in the final against Medvedev, especially considering how badly he started. The Australian, who is currently away from the sport due to injuries, talked about Sinner’s performance and predicted even more success in the coming months.
“Jannik Sinner, what an effort. It was incredible how much his level raised in the third, fourth and fifth sets. He found his forehand. I’m just so happy that I was a part of it and could call it.”

Sinner’s success at the Australian Open didn’t surprise many who followed him closely in the previous weeks, such as Kyrgios. He’s been trending in the right direction for a while, and this was just the crowning moment for him.
