Sinner to Make Grand Slam Debut as World No. 1 in Updated ATP Rankings

Sinner Set To Start First Grand Slam As World No. 1 In Latest ATP Rankings

Jannik Sinner will begin the 2024 Wimbledon Championships as the World’s No. 1, a massive improvement from 12 months ago.

Sinner, one of the major favorites for the title in SW19, is already a grass-court champion. He clinched the ATP 500 event in Halle over a week ago to strengthen his grip on the top spot.

There were no changes in the Top 10 this past week, both in terms of points or movement in the rankings. Therefore, Novak Djokovic keeps second place ahead of Carlos Alcaraz.

Alexander Zverev (4th) and Daniil Medvedev (5th) will have an opportunity to re-enter the top three depending on how deep they will go at Wimbledon and coupled with Djokovic and Alcaraz’s results there.

Less than 500 points separate Andrey Rublev in sixth and Casper Ruud in eighth. Alex de Minaur and Grigor Dimitrov complete the Top 10. Stefanos Tsitsipas remains five points behind the Bulgarian in 11th.

Tommy Paul drops to 13th, which means his stay as the American men’s No. 1 lasted precisely a week. Taylor Fritz won in Eastbourne for the third time to move into 12th and take back his crown.

Alejandro Tabilo continues to make waves this year. He captured his second ATP title in Mallorca. The Chilean moves to a new career-high ranking of No. 19 and eclipses Nicolas Jarry (20th) as the country’s No. 1.

Jack Draper rises to a new best ranking of No. 28 after a fine grass-court campaign, which could still have an even better finish should he excel at Wimbledon. He’s already spoken of his ambitions to perform well after Alcaraz’s title win last year.

Gael Monfils came so close to winning his first grass-court title at 37. He was the only player to take a set from eventual champion Tabilo in Mallorca, where he lost in the semis. He rose seven spots to 33rd in the rankings.

Sebastian Ofner re-enters the Top 50 after reaching the Mallorca final, while Pavel Kotov leaves it. You can track all the changes on our dedicated rankings page.
