Manchester United Targets New Permanent Manager Following Amorim Departure

In the wake of Ruben Amorim’s exit, Manchester United is actively searching for its next long-term manager.
While Darren Fletcher will assume the role of interim manager for now, efforts are underway to identify a permanent successor.
Ratcliffe reportedly has a preferred candidate: Mauricio Pochettino, the current head coach of the United States Men’s National Team, as reported by journalist Rudy Galetti.
The club’s hierarchy has long regarded Pochettino as a fit for their values, favoring high-intensity football, youth development, tactical innovation, and effective player management.
Pochettino’s Record Earns Him Admiration
Pochettino’s tenure at Tottenham Hotspur, where he turned a talented team into consistent contenders for the Premier League, remains highly esteemed at Old Trafford.
Even though his later stints brought mixed results in terms of trophies, they solidified his reputation for building strong, sustainable teams rather than relying on quick fixes.
Despite Ratcliffe’s strong interest, a move for Pochettino is thought to be unlikely in the near term.
The Argentine is currently dedicated to his role with the U.S. Soccer Federation, focusing on preparing the national team for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup.
Sources indicate that Pochettino views this opportunity as a pivotal moment in his career, with the chance to lead the USA on home turf being both a personal and professional landmark.
Consequently, Manchester United is considering alternative candidates that align with Ratcliffe’s vision.
