The Dallas Cowboys brought Ezekiel Elliott back.
That’s not a bad move itself, and it only made sense that they gave one of their best players in recent history an opportunity to retire with the team.
Nonetheless, they should’ve also pursued a legitimate starting-caliber running back in the offseason, which Elliott simply isn’t at this point in his career.
That’s why renowned sports analyst — and lifelong Cowboys supporter — Skip Bayless wasn’t thrilled to hear the news, not one bit.
In the latest edition of “Undisputed,” Bayless put the Cowboys and Jerry Jones on blast for this move.

He claimed that this was just “a PR move” to placate the fans over the terrible and disappointing offseason they’ve had.
Truth be told, he might be right on point.
The Cowboys had countless opportunities to address this big need after Tony Pollard walked away, but they chose not to.
Jerry Jones promised that he would make a big splash in the offseason, and he didn’t.
If anything, the Cowboys’ biggest change will come in the defensive coordinator department, with Mike Zimmer taking the reins from Dan Quinn, who left to become the new head coach of the Washington Commanders.
Other than that, the team isn’t any better than it was last season; it’s actually slightly worse.
And with no running game whatsoever, Dak Prescott will once again be tasked to carry the load and lead the team to success with his passing, and that has rarely gone their way in the past.
