Skip Bayless Says The Cowboys Have 2 Weak Links

After yet another disappointing season, the Dallas Cowboys have been relatively quiet in free agency, and it has disappointed some of their fans.

While they signed linebacker Erik Kendricks, they lost running back Tony Pollard, and they have yet to find a suitable replacement for him.

Then there is the matter of quarterback Dak Prescott, who is due for a contract extension, yet continues to underperform in big games and during the playoffs.

Skip Bayless, a well-known Cowboys fan, said on his podcast “The Skip Bayless Show” that the two weaknesses the team has are the QB position and general manager.

Prescott is often recognized as one of the better signal-callers in the NFL, and last season, his stats were fairly impressive: a 69.5 percent completion rate, 4,516 passing yards, and a league-high 36 passing touchdowns.

But his history of poor games when it matters most is troubling, and that deficiency struck again in the wild-card round of the playoffs when he threw two early interceptions in a 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Then there is controversial owner Jerry Jones, who insists on handling all player personnel decisions rather than hiring a strong executive who is a former player and/or coach.

Bayless noted how key players have left the team, including Pollard, offensive lineman Tyron Smith, defensive lineman Dorance Armstrong, and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, and yet Jones complained recently about not having any money.

Despite still having one of the league’s most talented teams, the Cowboys don’t exactly seem poised to win their first Super Bowl championship since the 1995 season any time soon.
