Solway Dominates GB U20 Men with 9-3 Victory

GB U20 MEN: SOLWAY 9-3 GB



A young Great Britain Under-20s Men’s side were beaten 9-3 by Solway Sharks in a challenge game at Dumfries Ice Bowl on Saturday night. Joe Lynch gave GB the lead at the first intermission with the only goal of the period (3:39).

But the hosts hit back to score seven without reply in period two, which began with a goal for Mason Alderson (22:06).

Caly Robertson (23:38) and Nolan Gardiner’s powerplay goal (28:31) made it 3-1 to Solway just before the midway point in the game.

Robertson scored his second (31:44) to make it 4-1, while Kieran Hair (35:22), Scott Henderson (37:53), and John Dunbar (39:49) were also on target for the home side.

Torran Anderson (40:59) closed the gap early in the third period and Kyle Carruth was also on the target for GB (43:12).

Joey Coulter netted short-handed (52:16) before Gardiner scored his second of the night to complete the scoring (54:26).
