Star Player from Real Madrid Believes He’s the Greatest in the World

Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti Has Won The Most Matches In The 21st Century

Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal has confidently declared himself as the best right-back in the world. The Spain international is in the midst of what he considers to be the best year of his career and aims to culminate it by helping his country succeed in the 2024 European Championship (EURO 2024).

Dani Carvajal Thinks He Is The Best Right-Back In The World

After a period of underperformance, Real Madrid’s right-back Carvajal has returned to his peak form. He has been playing in a more advanced role, making frequent attacking runs, and actively contributing with goals and assists.

Despite being 32 years old, Carvajal believes he is currently at his sharpest and most focused, contrary to expectations of slowing down at this stage of his career.

When asked if this is the best season of his career, Carvajal confidently replied to Cadena SER (via Football-Espana):

I think so, at the level of continuity, contribution, and level, without any doubt.”

He was then asked if he considers himself the best right-back in the world, to which Carvajal responded:

Assessing this last year, I think so, I always believe that for my confidence, I always tell myself I am, if I don’t, who will? But the numbers are there. It has been a good year, winning the Champions League, even scoring, the league and now wanting to take Spain as far as possible in the Euros.”

Carvajal Enjoyed A Stellar Season With Real Madrid

Throughout the 2023-24 season, Real Madrid captain Carvajal delivered remarkable performances consistently. The academy graduate featured in 28 La Liga matches, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His contributions were instrumental in helping Los Blancos secure the Spanish top-flight title over Barcelona.

His influence extended to the UEFA Champions League, where he scored and assisted in 10 matches. Carvajal notably scored the opening goal in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund in the final, heading Toni Kroos’ corner kick into the net. His standout performance in the Champions League final earned him the Player of the Match award.
