In Week 7, the Los Angeles Rams played host to the lowly Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and was able to come out on top with a five-point win, improving the team’s record to 2-4.
Although the Rams finally got another win by taking advantage of the struggling Raiders, the consensus seems to be that the team will limp through the rest of the 2024 NFL regular season with little chance of clinching a playoff spot in the NFC.
That said, the rumors have started to swirl about the immediate future of some of the team’s star players, namely veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford and superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
Although the team has seemed adamant about not throwing in the towel on this season and keeping their stars in Los Angeles, that stance may have recently changed, with Kupp potentially on the move.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Rams have contacted multiple teams to gauge trade interest in Kupp.
With the Rams being the side making the calls, head coach Sean McVay and company finally seem willing to make a drastic move in order to help set up a potentially promising future if they can get the right assets back in exchange for arguably their best player.
Although Kupp has dealt with numerous injuries over the last few years and struggles to stay healthy at this point in his career, the 31-year-old is still among the best wide receivers in the league when healthy, which might be enough to convince a contender to make a trade to acquire the one-time Super Bowl MVP.
