Stefanos Tsitsipas’s Mother Opens Up About His Academic Challenges

Tsitsipas's Mom Reveals His School Struggles

Stefanos Tsitsipas is well-known as one of the top players in the world, but his journey to success was not without challenges. His mother recently revealed that Tsitsipas faced bullying in school due to his shyness.

Despite his high profile as an athlete, Tsitsipas is naturally reserved and shy. While he displays fearlessness on the tennis court, off the court, he is known to be soft-spoken and takes his time before answering questions.

Tsitsipas’ mother, Julia Apostoli, shared in a recent interview that Stefanos was a shy and quiet child who often missed classes due to his dedication to tennis. Unfortunately, his classmates did not treat him kindly during that time.

“He was a very quiet child and very shy. Because of sports, he missed classes and the children he had in the class, cannot be called friends, because they treated him very badly.”

Despite the challenges he faced, Tsitsipas’ focus on tennis helped him overcome difficult times and excel in the sport.

“It was not easy for Stefanos then, but he overcame it because he had tennis and his mind was there to go forward. And that helped him a lot.”

Tennis became an escape for Tsitsipas, allowing him to dedicate himself even more to the sport and ultimately achieve success. Recently, he made significant changes in his coaching setup by parting ways with his father as his coach. This marks a new chapter in Tsitsipas’ career, and it will be intriguing to see how he adapts to these changes.

Stepping out of his comfort zone, especially for someone as shy as Tsitsipas, may present its challenges. However, his confidence on the tennis court has shown that he can overcome his reserved nature.

Earlier in his career, Tsitsipas had a YouTube channel where he shared glimpses of his life off the court, indicating his growing comfort with being in the spotlight.
