Steph Curry Reacts to Warriors’ Interest in LeBron James

Steph Curry Reacts to Warriors’ Interest in LeBron James

The NBA world was shook on Wednesday, when the news dropped that the Warriors enquired about LeBron James at the trade deadline, and Steph Curry has given his thoughts.

The Warriors endured a disappointing 130-125 loss to the Clippers on Wednesday, made even worse by the fact that Curry scored 41 points and Golden State still couldn’t get the W.

A stark reminder that the Warriors’ dynasty isn’t what it used to be.

No wonder Golden State owner Joe Lacob is trying to lure the great LeBron to The Bay.

After the game, Curry was asked if he’s ever surprised about reports of his team trying to trade for a superstar like James.

“No, never surprised,” Curry told reporters. “It’s always a surprise when stuff like that gets out because I’m assuming that every team is making calls that if every fanbase or media group would know about it, it would normalize the conversations that happen in the front office, especially around the trade deadline when you’re exploring around the league who’s available and who’s not.

“Obviously, a guy like Bron, you would probably call just to see. I don’t know what the depths of the conversations were, but it was a nice little surprise this morning for sure.”

In case you missed it (but doubtful), ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne reported on Wednesday that, “The Warriors were eager to present a package deal to L.A., but neither the Lakers nor James were willing to explore a potential blockbuster.”

But that wasn’t all.

Golden State will reportedly be chasing a superstar to pair with Curry over the summer, The Athletic’s Anthony Slater shared.

“If [LeBron James] has wandering eyes in the summer, or if Kevin Durant does or if Paul George is going to be a free agent at this point… the Warriors will be in on that conversation because I think they want a legitimate star wing next to Steph Curry,” Slater said on 95.7 The Game.

With one of the biggest luxury tax problems in the league, it remains to be seen how the franchise would pull of a deal for a veteran All-Star, but it’s certainly an exciting prospect to consider.
