Andrey Rublev is reigning men’s champion. A pair of two-time Madrid champions—Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev—chase a third Mutua Madrid Open crown. On the women’s side, World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka plays for a third Madrid title. Reigning women’s champion Iga Swiatek, who was toppled in Stuttgart by 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko, resides in the same section as Ostapenko in Madrid.
