Swiatek Achieves Historic Feat of Third Consecutive Roland Garros Title, Joining Tennis Legends

Iga Swiatek has made history by winning Roland Garros three times in a row, joining an exclusive club of only two other players.

Swiatek first claimed the Roland Garros title in 2020 during the pandemic as a surprise victory. She followed it up with a second win in 2022, setting the stage for her iconic three-peat.

The Polish tennis star secured her third consecutive Roland Garros title last year and solidified her historic achievement by defeating Jasmine Paolini in this year’s final.

Swiatek’s feat of winning Roland Garros thrice in a row had only been accomplished by two women before her – Monica Seles in the 1990s and Justine Henin in the mid-2000s.

With 21 consecutive wins at the event, Swiatek is now in the realm of tennis history. Her fourth overall title puts her in contention to surpass Chris Evert’s record of seven French major victories.

At just 23 years old, Swiatek’s dominance on the clay court suggests a bright future ahead. Many speculate that she may even challenge Rafael Nadal’s 14 French Open titles in the years to come.
