Tennis Ireland’s New Initiative: Court Bosses Launch

Tennis Ireland is excited to introduce the new Women in Tennis Programme – “Court Bosses”.

This program provides teenage girls aged 16-18 with a Level 1 Coaching Qualification, along with specialized empowerment and personal development training. The pilot program was initially launched in Ulster in May, with plans to expand it nationwide in the near future.

The official unveiling of the program took place at Hilden Tennis Club on Tuesday, with Letty Lucas (President of Tennis Ireland), Kevin Quinn (CEO of Tennis Ireland), and the Court Bosses Project Team including Nuala Phillips, Lisa Strutt, Sinéad Sharkey-Steenson, Michelle Daly Hayes, Sara McCraken, Stephen Garvin, and Aoife O’Sullivan in attendance.

The event saw the presence of esteemed guests such as Emma Little Pengally (Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland), Kurtis Dickson (Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council), Ruth Young (President of Lisburn Chamber of Commerce), Gill Brosnan (High Performance Programme Manager, Sport Ireland), George Lucas (Chair of Sport Northern Ireland), and Rebecca Hope (Head of Sports Systems, Sport Northern Ireland).
