The Houston Texans laid the groundwork last season for potentially a very special 2024 season.

In the first year of both DeMeco Ryans and quarterback C.J. Stroud, the team won the AFC South after winning 10 games in the regular season. They also won a playoff game for the first time since 2019.

Backup quarterback and veteran Case Keenum recently spoke to the Houston media while at his youth football camp about his team’s hopes for this upcoming season.

“There’s still some meat on the bone. We still want to get after it. We want to finish with the confetti falling down and winning the last one,” Keenum said.

This Texans team has gotten better over the offseason.

They traded for All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who joins an absolutely loaded wide receiver group that includes 1,000-yard receiver Nico Collins, exciting NFL sophomore Tank Dell, and veteran Robert Woods.

Former Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon was also added this offseason.

Defensively, the team signed four-time Pro Bowl edge-rusher Danielle Hunter, who is coming off of his best NFL season (16.5 sacks). He will be paired with NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr. on the edge.

This team has the opportunity to do even greater things this year. They have a talented roster and have established a winning identity. To beat a team like the Kansas City Chiefs or even the Baltimore Ravens, they will need to take another step this year. That step includes winning more games and overcoming adversity when it happens.

If they can do that, 2024 might be the year of the Texans.
