The clubs that carried Grayson Murray to his second career title at the Sony Open

Grayson Murray won his second PGA TOUR title at the the Sony Open in Hawaii last weekend, defeating Keegan Bradley and Byeong Hun An in a playoff.

Here, we get a look at the tools he utilised at Waialae Country Club to do the business.

With his 9.5-degree Mizuno ST-X 230 driver and UST Mamiya LIN—Q M40X 7F5 shaft, he was outstanding off the tee (first in strokes gained, picking up more than five shots on the field). However, the clubs at the short end of the bag were what made the difference for Murray.

Murray used his Mizuno T-24 wedges to make an incredible 12-for-12 in sand saves, which included a five-for-five performance in the last round. He also made timely putts with his L.A.B. Golf Link.1 blade putter.

His new go-to driver is a 10.5 degree Mizuno ST-X 230 model with a UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X White 7F5 shaft. This is a brand-new addition to the bag for 2024; the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond driver was utilised by Murray in the past.

The Callaway Rogue ST Max model, which debuted in 2022, is his three-wood option. Murray’s loft angle of 16.5 degrees places it halfway between a three- and a five-wood.

Murray has a seven wood with him as well on course. His preferred Callaway model is the more recent Paradym Triple Diamond model from 2023, which has a little bit more fade bias and is lower spinning than the normal model.

Murray uses a more forgiving Mizuno Pro 225 4-iron, a distance iron with a hollow body.

Next, he uses the Mizuno Pro 221 irons from 5-PW, which are considered to be some of the greatest golf irons of the modern era even though they are no longer manufactured.

Murray also carries three Mizuno T24 wedges in 52°, 56° and 60° of loft.

The center-shafted L.A.B Golf Link.1 model putter that Murray has been carrying since 2023 is his trusty choice on the greens. He switched from having a gun metal finish to a blacked-out version recently.
