The Green Bay Packers had a busy Friday as the team moved to shore up its wide receiving corps ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

The NFC North contender signed receivers Rory Starkey and Jalen Wayne while waiving injured wideout Alex McGough.

Starkey is a first-year addition out of Samford who performed well in a tryout at rookie minicamp in May.

He previously played three seasons at Penn where he won Second Team All-Ivy League recognition in 2022.

Wayne had offseason stints last year with the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns along with the CFL Montreal Alouettes this year.

The Packers announced the roster moves Friday on X.

Green Bay is tinkering with a position group that is one of the youngest and most talented in the NFL.

Jaylen Reed made the most of his rookie campaign last year by leading the team in catches (64) and receiving yards (793).

His eight touchdowns were tied for tops on Green Bay.

Romeo Doubs is a third-year wideout who finished second on the Pack in 2023 in both receptions (59) and yards (674).

He also tied for the team lead with eight touchdown catches.

Then there’s other potential young stars in Dontayvion Wicks and Christian Watson, each of whom could develop into an explosive target for budding superstar quarterback Jordan Love.

Love, of course, is the key to 2024 for Wisconsin’s favorite team.

He had an up and down first half last year after finally taking over from Aaron Rodgers, but finished the season on fire and led the Pack to a thrilling road playoff upset over the Dallas Cowboys.
