A familiar face will line up under center for the New York Jets in Week 14.
No, it’s not Aaron Rodgers.
He’s reportedly unlikely to play at all this season with his Achilles tear. It’s not even Tim Boyle, who the Jets released Tuesday after two horrid starts.
Instead, Zach Wilson will once again assume the mantle of starting quarterback for the Jets, head coach Robert Saleh announced Wednesday (via NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero).

This news comes after reports this week that Wilson was reluctant to start for the Jets.
He initially took over in Week 1 after Rodgers tore his Achilles and started the past nine games before the Jets benched him for Boyle in Week 12.
Wilson hadn’t played particularly well in the 10 games he saw action in prior to the midseason benching.
He completed 59.2 percent of his passes for 1,944 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Wilson played well enough to lead the Jets to a 4-3 start to the season, though, including a huge win over the previously-undefeated Philadelphia Eagles and a close loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
But three consecutive losses from Weeks 9-11 where the team failed to score an offensive touchdown was cause enough to bench Wilson for Boyle.
His replacement didn’t fare much better, though, and the Jets lost the past two games during which Saleh benched Boyle for veteran journeyman Trevor Siemian this past week against the Atlanta Falcons.
Going back to Wilson is really the only option for the Jets at this point.
The team added quarterback Brett Rypien to replace Boyle, but he isn’t ready to play.
So Wilson will get another shot to redeem himself.
