The Latest NBA Trade Rumors as Deadline Inches Closer

The Latest NBA Trade Rumors as Deadline Inches Closer

The NBA trade deadline is less than a month away and the rumors swirling around the league are only intensifying.

So to help you keep track of everything, here are the biggest NBA rumors and reports floating around right now.

KINGS COULD GO ALL-OUT FOR PASCAL SIAKAM

Numerous teams have expressed interest in Pascal Siakam, who is available as the Raptors look to rebuild around young players like Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett.

That includes the Dallas Mavericks, who view Siakam as a potential “missing piece” for the team to contend for a title, according to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer.

But another team in the mix is the Sacramento Kings, although Siakam reportedly told the Kings he wouldn’t re-sign with them over the summer if they traded for him.

But according to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, Sacramento won’t be deterred from making a run at him anyway.

“My understanding is that the Kings would still trade for Siakam even without the assurance that he’d re-sign, but his lack of commitment certainly changes the assets they’d be willing to give up alongside Harrison Barnes and Kevin Huerter,” O’Connor wrote.

“Odds are, the Kings would get outbid by a team that’s more optimistic that Siakam would stick around past this season.”

DONOVAN MITCHELL TO THE HEAT

NBA insider Marc Stein has claimed the Miami Heat’s interest in Donovan Mitchell was “bona fide.”

Here’s what Stein reported:

“The Miami Heat, league sources say, continue to have bona fide interest in Donovan Mitchell despite Cleveland’s don’t-even-call-us approach and could well choose to test that resolve with Mitchell proposals after Miami’s trade pursuits of Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard over the summer ended with neither player landing on South Beach.”

However, Heat legend Udonis Haslem has called BS on the report.

“Ain’t happenin’,” Haslem posted. “Pat likes his team. I can confirm. Still locked in so I kno what happens behind da scenes.”

Both Stein and Haslem are well-connected in NBA circles. Only time will tell if the Mitchell-to-Miami chatter is legit.

PACERS LOOKING TO TRADE BUDDY HIELD

The Indiana Pacers have been working on trade packages featuring Buddy Hield, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Hield is in the final season of his contract and is earning $18.6 million this season.

The Pacers are reportedly willing to attach a future first-round pick to any potential deal, but they’re reluctant to include their promising young players, such as Bennedict Mathurin.

DEJOUNTE MURRAY TO THE LAKERS

The Atlanta Hawks are actively shopping Dejounte Murray and are asking for two first-round picks in return, according to Kevin O’Connor, who also stated Murray “would prefer to join a team with a chance to make an immediate playoff run”.

By all reports, the Lakers are interested in trading for Murray but don’t want to part with Austin Reaves in any potential deal. However, the consensus seems to be that offering up Reaves would be LA’s only way to convince Atlanta to make a deal.

CLINT CAPELA TO THE LAKERS

The Hawks are hoping to shed some of their larger contracts, and that includes Clint Capela, according to The Athletic’s John Hollinger.

And according to NBA insider Brett Siegel, the Lakers have shown interest in Capela along with other teams including the Knicks, Rockets and Kings.
