Kevin Durant credits his season’s good health to avoiding floppers and what he refers to as ‘crash dummies’. He stresses that staying away from such situations has helped him stay injury-free this season, in contrast to previous incidents where MCL injuries were caused by teammate and opponent flops.
Durant admits to dealing with minor day-to-day injuries but expresses thankfulness for avoiding major setbacks. The Phoenix Suns forward warns against players who fake fouls by diving on the floor, choosing to avoid such scenarios to preserve his health.
“No players flopped into my legs this year,” Durant stated. “In the last two years, I had a teammate flop into me and an opponent flop into me, resulting in MCL injuries. If it wasn’t for that, I probably would have played the same number of games, but I’m glad nobody flopped into me.
“I had a few nagging injuries, but they were manageable day by day. I’m appreciative of that… Just steer clear of the crash dummies, you know. The guys who try to deceive referees and don’t mind risking injury by flopping on the floor to draw a foul. I know who those players are, and I try to avoid them.”
