Titleist are the No. 1 ball in golf and claim that every golfer will benefit from playing their premium balls.
However they also offer plenty of alternatives and the TruFeel is the cheapest in their range of seven ball offerings: these retail at £26 for a dozen which compares to £50 for any version of the Pro V1.
So, if you do lose a lot of balls, this is going to be a lot easier on the wallet. But let’s step away from just cost and consider how this will affect your game if you do keep it in play.
First up if you are a strong player with plenty of ball speed and someone who creates a lot of spin around the greens then this isn’t for you as you won’t get the benefits that you would from a premium ball.
But the good news, albeit sadly, is that many of us don’t possess a lot of speed and that this value ball will still give us plenty of help in other ways.

Extra distance
This was released in 2024 and a new TruTouch core has been added to this two-piece ball to promote extra distance.
If you think you are going to lose 15 yards by not playing a premium ball then you will be very nicely surprised. Similarly this won’t balloon due to that aerodynamic dimple design.
Also, despite the soft nature of the ball, it has a solid feel to it and there is nothing ‘spongey’ about it. If you are new to the game then your feels might not even register this but, for a moderate swing speed, it will perform perfectly adequately.
Around the greens there is also a new softer 3.0 Truflex cover to provide more spin and control and, again, you might not be able to produce the same amount of check as a premium ball but you also won’t be producing the same level of strike as a better player.
A good way of understanding how this type of ball works is to look at the compression.
The TruFeel is 50, which is low, while the Pro V1 is 90. A low compression ball is a type of ball designed to compress more easily when struck, making it ideal for players with slower to moderate swing speeds.
Compression refers to how much the ball deforms or ‘compresses’ when hit. The TruFeel requires less force to compress, meaning players with slower swings can still get maximum distance and performance from their shots.
The easy conclusion here is that this is a Titleist golf ball so you can be guaranteed of a certain and very high level of quality.
The alignment will suit some but not all people’s eye and there are three color options; white, yellow and a matte red which is certainly different and quite niche.
A brilliant ball for a beginner or high-handicapper and a very reliable option also for the mid-handicapper.
