Guido Rodríguez, the midfielder for West Ham United, has shared his enthusiasm upon his arrival in Spain to finalize his transfer to Valencia.
The 31-year-old, who has been with West Ham since last summer, is set to finalize a short-term agreement that will see him play at Mestalla until the end of the season.
Valencia has been in talks with West Ham for a few weeks, working to secure Rodríguez as part of their January roster adjustments.
Guido Rodríguez Excited for Fresh Start at Valencia
Rodríguez expressed his happiness upon landing, stating to El Chiringuito TV, as reported by Inside Futbol:
“I am very happy. Valencia is a very big club. I spoke with [Carlos] Corberan.”
The Argentine midfielder joins Valencia during a crucial phase as the team struggles with consistency. Currently, they find themselves just four points above the relegation zone, having secured only five victories in their 21 league matches.
With a noted lack of creativity and balance in their midfield this season, Rodríguez’s arrival is viewed as vital to bolstering the team’s structure.
West Ham is actively enhancing their squad this January, having brought in players like Pablo and Taty Castellanos to strengthen their offensive capabilities.
Manager Nuno Espírito Santo aims to reshape the team, focusing on integrating seasoned players capable of withstanding the pressures associated with a relegation battle.
