The Oklahoma City Thunder have decided to release the big man Aleksej Pokusevski. The team will absorb Pokusevski’s $5 million salary for the current season, and he was originally slated to become a free agent after the season concludes.
Despite displaying potential at different junctures in his initial four NBA seasons, Pokusevski struggled to secure a consistent role with the Oklahoma City team.
His progress was hindered by injuries each time he appeared to be gaining positive momentum, forcing him to essentially start anew after each period of missed playing time.
