Title: Introducing the New FootJoy Quantum Golf Shoes

FootJoy has solidified its reputation as a top golf shoe brand by producing classic footwear that has been beloved by both professional tour players and recreational golfers for decades. It is highly likely that if your father played golf, he sported a pair of FootJoy shoes. While known for its traditional styles, the footwear, apparel, and accessories division of Acushnet, the parent company of Titleist, has also ventured into creating sporty, athletic-style golf shoes in recent years. The latest addition to their lineup is the Quantum model.

The spikeless Quantum ($169, available in sizes 7-15) is a hybrid of two existing FootJoy shoes, the Pro/SLX and the Flex. Even without prior knowledge of the Quantum, one of its standout features is immediately apparent just by looking at the shoe – exceptional cushioning.

Beneath the heel lies a substantial cushioning unit that is soft enough to be depressed by a thumb. FootJoy refers to the foam used in the midsole as SofFOAM, claiming it to be the softest foam ever utilized by the brand. As a result, the Quantum is expected to offer a high level of comfort and cushioning while navigating the golf course on foot.

Golfers will immediately notice the sneaker-style aesthetic of the Quantum, reminiscent of the Flex model. However, the outsole of the shoe resembles a modified version of the Pro/SLX outsole. Each shoe features traction elements on the inner side of the forefoot referred to as “directional fins” by FootJoy. These fins are angled inward to provide additional lateral support during the swing. On the outer side, there are fins angled outward to help secure your feet in place. While the outsole design is not as aggressive as the Pro/SLX, the Quantum aims to offer solid lateral support while prioritizing comfort during walking.

The Quantum also features a breathable mesh upper, a soft Ortholite footbed that conforms to the foot over time, and comes with a one-year waterproof warranty.
