Titleist Unveils Highly Anticipated 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Balls at Shriners Open in Las Vegas

2025 Titleist Pro V1, Pro V1x debut at Shriners Open in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has long been a place where professional golfers have made their fortunes using Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls. As pros arrived at TPC Summerlin for the Shriners Children’s Open, they were greeted by white boxes containing the newest versions of Titleist’s flagship golf balls: the 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

The Pro V1 was introduced in October 2000 at the Invensys Classic in Las Vegas after five years of development. The ball combined short-game spin of balata-covered balls with the distance of solid-core balls. At the tournament, 47 players immediately switched to the Pro V1, including Billy Andrade and Phil Mickelson. The ball became the best-selling golf ball in the market within four months.

The Pro V1x was introduced in 2003 as a companion ball to the Pro V1, offering a firmer feel and higher flight. Both models have been updated every two years since then.

Since its release, the Pro V1 has been the most-played ball in every men’s major championship. Last season, 70% of balls on the PGA Tour and 76% on the LPGA were Pro V1 or Pro V1x. Expectations are high for the 2025 versions of the balls, with refinements expected in distance, greenside control, and overall feel.

The new Pro V1 and Pro V1x are likely to be available to the public in January 2025, following their seeding on the PGA Tour.
