Tom Thibodeau Addresses Jimmy Butler’s Critical Comments about the Knicks

Knicks Butler

Last postseason, Jimmy Butler sent the Knicks home, but he wasn’t given that opportunity again this year due to an MCL injury that saw him miss the entire first round.

The Miami star recently criticized Josh Hart and head coach Tom Thibodeau in a video from Rock The Bells circulating on social media.

“If I was playing, Boston would be at home,” Butler said. “New York damn sure would be f**king at home.”

The interviewer in the video also mentioned Josh Hart to Butler.

“F**k that mean to me? Josh Hart? C’mon man,” Butler said. “I love Thibs, but I don’t want Thibs. Thibs, I love you baby, but I want to beat you to a pulp. You want me. I don’t want you. It’s like a one-sided relationship.

“You in love with me and I love you but I’m not in love with you, you know what I’m saying.”

Butler previously played for Thibodeau during his time with the Bulls and the Timberwolves.

Despite the ending of their time together in Minnesota, the pair still seem to have a lot of love for each other.

After the video of Butler’s comments, Thibodeau was asked about Butler in a media call and a smile came across his face.

“I don’t know him,” Thibodeau said. “But I’ll beat him to a pulp.”

Without Butler, the Heat lost to the Celtics in five games during the first round.

There are already “loud whispers” about Butler’s future being in serious doubt due to his “declining play and constant absences,” according to The Athletic’s John Hollinger.
