With a few tournaments across the pond on the horizon, including the year’s final men’s major championship — The Open is scheduled for July 18-21 — the PGA Tour first heads to Detroit and Detroit Golf Club for the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Defending champion Rickie Fowler and the newest member of the 59 club Cameron Young headline the field and will be joined by Will Zalatoris, Akshay Bhatia, Tom Kim, Min Woo Lee and Taylor Pendrith. Kim, who finished runner-up to Scottie Scheffler at the Travelers Championship on Sunday, is the betting favorite at 12/1.
Detroit Golf Club is a par-72 track measuring 7,370 yards. The Donald Ross design gives up plenty of low scores, so like last week in Cromwell, Connecticut, expect a birdie-fest.
