As golf enthusiasts, many of us have tried our hand at the Golden Tee arcade game, aiming to showcase our knowledge of world courses, right?
But the competition is heating up in Las Vegas this weekend as the Golden Tee World Championship takes place at The Palms Casino Resort.
The 5-course arcade qualifier kicks off at 2 p.m. ET and can be watched live on the Golden Tee YouTube page.
This year’s prize pool is a whopping $160,000, with 96 arcade players competing for the top cash prize of $35,000, while nine open qualifying spots are up for grabs for last-minute entrants.
Kevin Lindsay, head of amusement marketing at Incredible Technologies, told RePlay Magazine, “We expect this to be a landmark year for the Golden Tee World Championships. On top of a record prize pool, our team has put a lot of thought into this year’s event, and we know this will set the bar for what players can expect in years to come. Both the game and brand of Golden Tee have a lot of momentum to build upon.”
Among those participating in this year’s event is last year’s champion, Paul Tayloe.
