A football game is a unique event and environment, not just for fans but also for players, and there are plenty of factors that can affect the outcome.
Other than how nasty (or tame) the fans are in a particular stadium, the weather obviously plays a role in places without a dome.
Michelle Smallmon listed her top five toughest places to play in the NFL, and, unsurprisingly, they were all outdoor stadiums located in cold-weather cities, per UNSPORTSMANLIKE Radio.

At No. 5 is Acrisure Stadium, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, where opposing teams have to deal with devoted, proud members of Steelers Nation waving those Terrible Towels.
Next is Lumen Field, the home of the Seattle Seahawks, which is notorious for its boisterous fans, known as the 12th Man, dating back to when the team was perennial contenders about a decade ago.
Those Seattle teams, which were led by quarterback Russell Wilson, running back Marshawn Lynch and a savage defense, won the Super Bowl championship during the 2013 season in blowout fashion over the Denver Broncos.
Arrowhead Stadium is at No. 3, and obviously, dealing with the two-time defending world champion Kansas City Chiefs and living legend QB Patrick Mahomes is a handful.
Dealing with members of Bills Mafia is also difficult, and thus Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills, was listed at No. 2.
Coming in at No. 1 is Lincoln Financial Field, which is where the Philadelphia Eagles play, and not only are they Super Bowl contenders, but they have perhaps the nation’s nastiest fans.
In fact, the venue used to have its own jail, which was brought over from Veterans Stadium, the Eagles’ previous home.
That jail was closed a couple of years after Lincoln Financial Field opened in 2003.
