Top NFL Draft prospects and other important news

Names, Notable Prospects, and More

The New England Patriots‘ 2024 rookie class will be the ones setting the foundation in the post-Bill Belichick universe. That includes the undrafted players they’re bringing in.

Outside of turning to quarterback Drake Maye, new head coach Jerod Mayo and company are bringing in this list of undrafted players to propel the next chapter of Patriots football.

Which UDFAs Did the Patriots Sign? Contracts and Notable Names

  • Deshaun Fenwick, RB, Oregon State

  • Kaleb Ford-Dement, CB, Texas State
  • Mikey Victor, CB, Alabama State
  • Dell Pettus, CB, Troy

The Patriots have 13 undrafted rookies signed ahead of May minicamps.

Deshaun Fenwick comes over as one of the more experienced college football running backs in this rookie class, having played a total of six seasons. He spent his first three years with South Carolina before giving the Beavers a powerful 6’2″, 220-pound presence in their backfield.

While the Pats are bringing in two UDFAs at the tight end spot, one is already familiar with a Day 2 selection the franchise made.

Sacramento State TE Marshel Martin joins the Patriots alongside his former Hornets teammate Marte Mapu, New England’s third-round pick in 2023. Martin is a 2021 FCS All-American and once delivered a streak of 31 straight games with a reception.

Defensively, Mayo will have three UDFAs representing his past position of linebacker. Jett Bush played five seasons for the Longhorns and started in five games during his final season. Also at linebacker is Jontrey Hunter, who earned the 2020 Defensive Player of the Game honor during the LendingTree Bowl.

Finally, Texas State cornerback Kaleb Ford-Dement comes over as both a Group of Five and Power Five defender. The 5’11” CB first began his career with Washington State before crossing over to the Sun Belt Conference school.

Who Will be Attending the Patriots’ Rookie Minicamp?

  • Beau Corrales, WR, Texas State
  • Tariq Stewart, OL, North Carolina A&T
  • Jay Person, EDGE, Tennessee-Chattanooga
  • Trajan Bandy, CB, Miami (Fl.)
  • John Pupil, DB, Boston College
  • Vance Blanchard, PK, Laval

The Patriots have invited six more players to take part in their rookie minicamp later in May.

Beau Corrales has ties to Ford-Dement, having spent 2023 with Texas State. The towering 6’4″, 215-pound target also had stops with SMU and shares a connection with Maye, having spent 2017-20 at North Carolina. However, both Corrales and Maye ended up missing each other in Chapel Hill, as Maye joined the 2021 UNC class.

Tariq Stewart and Jay Person represent the HBCU prospects the Patriots are giving a try. Stewart is a towering 6’5″, 301-pound mauling run blocker. Person previously played for Appalachian State before crossing over to UT-Chattanooga, where he became a 2022 FCS All-American.

Lastly, Vance Blanchard is going from Canada to the NFL as a rookie minicamp invitee.

When Is the Patriots’ Rookie Minicamp?

Mayo and the Patriots coaching staff will get to watch the rookies work from May 10-12.

Each NFL team, including the Pats, were given either the timeframe of May 3-6 or May 10-13 to solidify their rookie minicamp dates. Every franchise also had a choice between a Friday-Sunday format or reserving Saturday-Monday for their session.

In the case of the Patriots, they’ll use Mother’s Day weekend to watch the rookies compete and get evaluated.
