Top PGA Tour players fail to make the cut at 2024 Genesis Scottish Open

PGA Tour stars, notable players miss cut at 2024 Genesis Scottish Open

Swedish sensation Ludvig Aberg is alone atop the leaderboard after the first two rounds of the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club thanks to back-to-back rounds of 6-under 64.

One shot back of Aberg is Antoine Rozner at 11 under, while Matteo Manassero and Sungjae Im are tied for fourth at 10 under. Entering the week, Im had finished T-12 or better in six of his last eight starts.

There are superstar names inside the top 10, including Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy and Sahith Theegala all at 9 under, T-5.

However, there are plenty of notable names who fell short of the 3-under 137 cutline and will be leaving North Berwick, Scotland, a few days early.

Here are eight PGA Tour stars who missed the cut at the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open

Hideki Matsuyama of Japan looks across the 16th hole during day two of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club on July 12, 2024 in North Berwick, Scotland.

This is Matsuyama’s first missed cut of the season (previously 14/14).

Sepp Straka of Austria tees off on the second hole during day two of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club on July 12, 2024 in North Berwick, Scotland.

The European Ryder Cup captain followed his opening 2-under 68 with a 70 and fell short of the cutline by one shot.

Jordan Spieth of the United States plays his second shot on the 16th hole during day two of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club on July 12, 2024 in North Berwick, Scotland.

Spieth’s most recent top-20 finish came at the Valero Texas Open in May.

Billy Horschel of the United States tees off on the fourth hole during day two of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club on July 12, 2024 in North Berwick, Scotland.

A 1-over 71 after an opening 1-under 69 sends Horschel packing a few days early.

Justin Rose of England plays his second shot on the 18th hole during day two of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club on July 12, 2024 in North Berwick, Scotland.

He’ll miss the weekend at The Renaissance, but Rose now travels to Royal Liverpool after going through qualifying for The Open.

Will Zalatoris of the United States lines up a putt on the third green during day one of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club on July 11, 2024 in North Berwick, Scotland.

Zalatoris withdrew from the Rocket Mortgage Classic due to a pop in his hip, and now he missed the weekend in Scotland.
