James Trafford, the 23-year-old goalkeeper from Manchester City, is reportedly seeking a transfer as he faces limited chances to play.
With Gianluigi Donnarumma currently occupying the starting spot, Trafford is considering a move to secure more playing time.
Transfer Interest in Trafford
Reports indicate that Tottenham, Newcastle, and Aston Villa are potential destinations for the young keeper in the near future.
It remains to be seen where his future lies.
Keith Wyness commented to Football Insider: “He’s an excellent goalkeeper, and I believe several clubs are looking to strengthen that position. Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Tottenham all appear to be viable options for Trafford.”
Potential Impact on Clubs

Tottenham would benefit from strengthening their goalkeeping unit. Although Guglielmo Vicario has shown promise, he has had moments of inconsistency and struggles with aerial threats. Acquiring a reliable goalkeeper like Trafford could be advantageous for the team.
Aston Villa is also in need of a new goalkeeper as Emiliano Martinez’s departure seems likely. Trafford’s strong performances for Burnley in the Championship suggest he could thrive in the Premier League.
Newcastle is looking to enhance their goalkeeping ranks as well, with Trafford potentially serving as a long-term successor to Nick Pope. The competition among these clubs to secure his signature could be intense.
