According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham is making significant efforts to secure Roberto De Zerbi as their next full-time manager.
Following Igor Tudor’s official exit, Tottenham is reportedly working diligently to bring in the Italian coach, who has been their top preference since leaving Marseille in February.

The North London team finds itself in a precarious position, sitting just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League with only seven matches left to play.
Fabrizio Romano Provides Insights on De Zerbi
On his YouTube channel, Romano shared insights indicating that while De Zerbi has some interest in joining Tottenham, he may hold off on a final decision until the club’s Premier League future is clearer by the season’s end.
“Tottenham’s dream target continues to be Roberto De Zerbi,” Romano commented.
“De Zerbi’s plan has always been to evaluate the Tottenham role after the season concludes, wanting to determine the best path for his future.”
However, Romano emphasized that Spurs are not giving up easily. “Tottenham is making a strong push for him. They wish to explore every possible avenue to bring him on board,” he added.
Plan B for Spurs If De Zerbi Declines
If Tottenham cannot secure De Zerbi for their relegation battle, they may look to appoint another short-term manager to navigate the situation.
Romano mentions that Sean Dyche is among those considered for the position, alongside other potential candidates.
The ex-Everton and Burnley manager brings valuable experience in dealing with high-pressure relegation scenarios.
If De Zerbi opts out, Mauricio Pochettino remains a nostalgic choice for the permanent role.
Currently leading the USMNT, Pochettino is reportedly open to a return to Tottenham, regardless of their league situation, but would not be available until after the 2026 World Cup this summer.
