Tottenham Poised for Financial Gain from Troy Parrott’s Transfer
This summer, Tottenham Hotspur stands to gain financially due to a strategic decision made by former Chairman Daniel Levy regarding striker Troy Parrott’s transfer in 2024.
The Irish forward, who found it difficult to secure a place in the first team at Tottenham, was sold to Dutch club AZ Alkmaar for £6.7 million in July 2024.
Crucially, Spurs included a 20% sell-on clause in the agreement, a decision that is starting to pay off as Parrott’s value continues to rise.

Recent reports indicate that Leeds United is keen on signing Parrott as they aim to strengthen their attack.
The team, managed by Daniel Farke, is one of several clubs interested in the 24-year-old, with his current market valuation estimated at around £25 million.
If Leeds finalizes a deal at that price, Tottenham could earn approximately £5 million from the transaction.
This represents a notable return on investment for a player who made just four senior appearances for Spurs.
While Leeds is leading the charge, clubs including AC Milan, Fulham, and Wolfsburg are also monitoring the rising star, which could further inflate his asking price.
Troy Parrott’s Post-Spurs Rise
Since leaving North London, Parrott has significantly improved, emerging as one of Europe’s most prolific young forwards.
After a promising first season in the Netherlands during which he scored 20 goals, the Dublin native has escalated his performance during the 2025/26 campaign.
This season alone, he has netted 28 goals and provided 10 assists in 42 matches across all competitions.
Parrott’s excellence hasn’t just been confined to club levels; he scored five goals for the Republic of Ireland in 2025, including a remarkable hat-trick against Hungary, helping his nation reach the 2026 World Cup play-offs.
At 24, Parrott seems primed for a return to the Premier League stage.
