Tottenham Eyes Savinho in January Transfer Window

Tottenham Hotspur is gearing up to bolster its squad in the upcoming January transfer window, with a particular focus on acquiring a new winger. Among their targets is Savinho, a player Tottenham pursued over the summer. Football expert Mick Brown believes that a transfer for Savinho could materialize when the window opens.
“I wouldn’t be surprised to see Savinho leave Manchester City in January,” Brown stated. “He has been relegated to a secondary role since Cherki’s impressive performances, and both Doku and Foden have stepped up significantly.”
Brown added, “Savinho is undoubtedly a talented player, but currently, he isn’t making a strong case for regular selection. Guardiola does not see him as a first choice over those players, so if a solid offer comes their way, allowing him to depart is quite possible.”
Potential Impact of a Transfer
As Manchester City prioritizes depth within their squad, the decision to sell Savinho may hinge on the right offer. Tottenham remains keen following their earlier interest, which did not result in a move.
Brown remarked, “Tottenham’s interest from the summer is still valid, and other clubs may also consider him.”
Given that Savinho is not a primary player for City right now, transferring to Tottenham could provide him with important game time. This is critical for his aspirations of securing a spot in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
