Tottenham Hotspur is considering Niko Kovac for their managerial position, amid reports of his potential departure from Borussia Dortmund.
As per BILD, there is considerable interest from Spurs, who are contemplating Kovac as a candidate for head coach. Currently, Igor Tudor is serving as the interim manager, but a new appointment is expected for the summer.
Additionally, Tottenham is reportedly interested in Cesc Fabregas, signaling further ambitions for the squad’s improvement.
Niko Kovac’s Rising Appeal
The 54-year-old German manager is being viewed as a possible long-term solution for Tottenham’s managerial vacancy. Early contact has already been made by the North London club. However, Manchester United has also expressed interest in Kovac, complicating Spurs’ pursuit.
Securing Kovac could place Tottenham in a stronger position to compete at the top tier of English football. His successful track record in Germany makes him an appealing choice, and coaching in the Premier League could present an exciting new chapter for him.
On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund appears reluctant to let him go, as they intend to retain him through the duration of his contract, which runs until 2027. It will be interesting to see if they consider offering him an extension soon.
Kovac’s Incentives for a Move

Having established a solid reputation in Germany, this could be the opportune moment for Kovac to embrace a fresh challenge in the Premier League. The allure of taking the reins at a club with considerable ambition and resources would certainly be enticing.
Tottenham boasts a talented roster and, with a few strategic signings over the summer, could become serious contenders for silverware. The forthcoming negotiations for Kovac will reveal if this ambition can translate into action.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is also assessing options for a long-term successor to Michael Carrick, and it remains to be seen whether they might pursue the German manager directly. Kovac has a career win rate of 51%, and his impact on English football could be significant.
