After missing the NFL playoffs following a breakout season in 2022, some have debated whether star quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars were headed in the wrong direction, especially after losing star wide receiver Calvin Ridley to the Tennessee Titans in NFL free agency this offseason.
Despite coming off a disappointing 2023 campaign in which the Jaguars failed to live up to expectations as a force to be reckoned with in the AFC and the favorite to win the AFC South, which ultimately turned out to be the upstart Houston Texans, Jacksonville took care of their star quarterback by signing him to a massive contract extension.
With Lawrence’s long-term future with the Jaguars secured, he will want for nothing moving forward outside of some help on the football field once the 2024 NFL season gets underway in September.
In the meantime, Lawrence and his wife are adding another member to their family, with the up-and-coming star quarterback announcing they are expecting a baby girl, according to Dov Kleiman.

With Lawrence and the Jaguars receiving a lot of criticism for the massive contract extension that was signed, it’ll be interesting to see if the Clemson product uses it as motivation and aims for a bounce-back season in 2024.
Due to the accession of the Texans and rising star CJ Stroud, things have only gotten tougher for the Jaguars moving forward, as they are no longer the team to beat in the AFC South and will have their work cut out for them to earn that distinction once again.
