The Jacksonville Jaguars suffered a tough loss in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals that dropped them to 8-4 during the 2023 NFL season.
Cincinnati was able to pull out the win with Jake Browning under center, though he had plenty of help from his skill position players like Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Mixon.
Jacksonville started the evening off at full health with Trevor Lawrence, but he lost a key weapon in Christian Kirk to a groin injury and had to rely on other options like Calvin Ridley and Evan Engram to move the football.
However, disaster looked like it struck when Lawrence suffered a high-ankle sprain after left tackle Walker Little stepped on him after a pass play.
The injury looked bad on the replay, and Lawrence was seen throwing his helmet on the ground in frustration as he knew that it would force him out of a close game.
Lawrence somehow walked all the way to the tunnel with the help of the medical staff and explained that he chose that route himself versus asking for a cart via CBS.
“I was the one that didn’t choose to take one,” Lawrence said.

Fans and media were initially confused as to why Lawrence decided to make the trek all the way to the locker room, so it’s good to know that he made the decision himself.
Cameras showed Lawrence walking gingerly, forcing people to assume that the team was being negligent in regard to their franchise quarterback.
Tests showed no structural damage to the signal caller’s ankle, but it’s fair to assume that he’ll miss time as he recovers.
