The Jacksonville Jaguars and Pro Bowl quarterback Trevor Lawrence recently agreed to a massive extension.
The former national champion and No. 1 overall draft pick signed a five-year deal worth $275 million.
Lawrence is at the top of the list in terms of average annual value ($55 million per year).
He recently spoke in front of the Jacksonville media for the first time since putting pen to paper.
“We wanted to be here long term…We love being here…I want to bring a championship to Jacksonville,” Lawrence said.
“I want to bring a championship to Jacksonville, that’s my goal and I know we can accomplish that.”

From a talent standpoint, Lawrence is one of the top quarterbacks in the league, and he has also proven that he can help turn this team into a winner.
The Jaguars have had back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2004-2005.
Lawrence led Jacksonville to their first division title and playoff win since 2017 in 2022, which was head coach Doug Pederson’s first year down in Duval County.
The former Clemson star has thrown for over 4,000 yards and had a completion percentage above 65% in back-to-back years but has struggled with turnovers.
Since 2021, no quarterback has had more turnovers than Lawrence (60).
To make matters worse, he only has nine more career touchdowns than turnovers (69).
He will have to tone down his bad decisions if the Jaguars want to make the playoffs again and eventually make a deep run.
But all in all, the team made the right call by extending him, and he could very well be the best quarterback in franchise history.
