The Caleb Williams era for the Chicago Bears got off to a bittersweet start as the team managed to come away with a win in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.

While the Bears should be happy with the win, it was a lackluster performance from Williams in his professional debut as he was limited through the air with only 93 passing yards.

Williams was brought in to overhaul an offense, but it looks like that will take some time as the unit gets more familiar and comfortable with each other.

There is still optimism that the passing game will find its groove, especially given the pass-catching talent that’s available.

Between D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, Chicago has the tools in place to help Williams thrive in his first year in the NFL.

However, it seems that Wiliams could be missing two of his three primary reads as Allen and Odunze are being listed as questionable for Week 2 against the Houston Texans via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

“With WRs Keenan Allen (heel) and Rome Odunze (knee) both listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game in Houston, the Bears elevated WR Collin Johnson to the active roster from their practice squad,” Schefter reported.

Elevating wide receiver Collin Johnson the day before the game is a sign that one or both wideouts could miss the contest.

Allen has been dealing with a nagging heel injury, while Odunze hurt his knee in the win against the Titans.

For now, the situation is worth monitoring ahead of Sunday Night Football.
