Tyler Adams misses Bournemouth loss with back spasms

Tyler Adams misses Bournemouth loss with back spasms

AFC Bournemouth suffered a 2-1 road loss at Luton Town on Saturday with American midfielder Tyler Adams missing the match through injury.

Adams was not in the squad due to back spasms, manager Andoni Iraola confirmed postmatch to media. The U.S. men’s national team captain only recently returned to competitive action in March.

Adams delivered a Man of the Match showing in last week’s 2-1 English Premier League victory over Everton, but was an unused substitute midweek in a 1-0 triumph over Crystal Palace.

After suffering back-to-back hamstring injuries in 2023, Adams made his first league appearance for Bournemouth on March 13. He proceeded to help the USMNT lift the CONCACAF Nations League title during March’s international window, scoring a stellar strike against Mexico in the final.

Bournemouth has seven league matches remaining on its schedule, which continues with an April 13 showdown vs. Manchester United.
