It has been reported that the Los Angeles Clippers are interested in signing a longterm extension with head coach Tyronn Lue, who is set to enter the final year of his current deal.

In addition, Lue has been mentioned as a candidate to take the recently-fired Darvin Ham’s position as the head coach of the Lakers with LeBron James reportedly strongly favoring him.

But for Lue the priority is to stay with the Clippers. He made it clear unequivocally after his team was eliminated in six games by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.

“I hope so,” Lue said when asked about his expectation to be with the team longterm. “I didn’t come here to bounce around and go all over the place. Mr. Ballmer, Lawrence (Frank), Mark (Hughes), and Trent (Redden) have all been great to me. This is where I want to be. Hopefully, they feel the same way.”
