The 2024 NFL Draft is less than a week away and the speculation of where the top six quarterback prospects will land has reached fever pitch.

According to several pundits, the Chicago Bears will take USC’s Caleb Williams and the Washington Commanders will grab Heisman winner and LSU signal-caller Jayden Daniels.

What comes next is anyone’s guess.

New England has the third overall pick, but the talking heads believe the team will trade back.

Minnesota needs a new franchise quarterback after Kirk Cousins bolted for Atlanta.

In recent days, rumors have Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, Oregon’s Bo Nix, and UNC’s Drake Maye as possible candidates to become a Viking.

Tarheels quarterback coach and offensive coordinator, Chip Lindsey, thinks his protege will make any team a contender, especially when moving out of the pocket.

Lindsey was a guest on Mad Dog Sports Radio and said that Maye has a great talent for making miracles happen on the fly.

“That’s the one thing that makes him really intriguing…the game is not played standing still in the pocket anymore. He would make plays that were just wild,” said Lindsey.

In 2022, the six-foot-five, 220-pound Maye passed for 4,321 yards, 38 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

Last season, he threw for 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns and nine picks.

Between 2021 and 2023, Maye also added 1,209 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.

UNC went 9-5 in 2022 including a loss to Oregon in the Holiday Bowl before going 8-5 in 2023 with a loss to West Virginia in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
