United States Men’s National Team maintains 11th position in latest FIFA Rankings for June

Who Should Start for the USMNT vs. Brazil?

The U.S. men’s national team remained at No. 11 in the first FIFA Rankings of the summer after a 0-1-1 record in their recent friendly matches. Gregg Berhalter’s squad suffered a 5-1 loss to Colombia and then tied Brazil 1-1.

Both Christian Pulisic and Tim Weah scored goals during these matches.

The 5-1 loss to Colombia was the largest defeat margin for the USMNT under Berhalter’s coaching. However, the 1-1 draw with Brazil was the first time the Americans tied with the South American team.

Mexico dropped to No. 15 in the rankings, while Panama and Canada rose to No. 43 and No. 48 respectively. Costa Rica and Honduras completed the top six CONCACAF nations.

Argentina, the winners of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, maintained their No. 1 ranking, with France at No. 2. Belgium remained at No. 3, Brazil moved up to No. 4, and England dropped to No. 5. Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, and Italy completed the Top 10.

The USMNT’s schedule for 2024 includes upcoming matches in the Copa America. They will face Bolivia in their first group stage match in Arlington, Texas, followed by matches against Panama and Uruguay in Group C.
