United States to face Mexico in 2024 international friendly: Match details, broadcast information, streaming options, and predicted lineups

USA vs. Mexico, 2024 Friendly: Time, TV schedule, streaming and lineups

The United States Men’s National Team hit the road tonight for a huge friendly against their archrivals, Mexico. The USMNT is coming off a 2-0 victory on Saturday night in Austin, while Mexico drew Valencia 2-2 in an unofficial friendly in Puebla.

The USMNT last played Mexico in a road friendly in 2012 at Estadio Azteca where the USMNT recorded a 1-0 victory. To date, that victory, courtesy of a Michael Orozco Fiscal goal, is the only win the United States has recorded on Mexican soil. They haven’t lost in Mexico since then, with draws in World Cup qualifying in 2013, 2017, and 2022. They hope to bring home a second victory in Mauricio Pochettino’s first away match as head coach. The teams last faced each other in March, where the USMNT beat Mexico 2-0 in the Concacaf Nations League Final. The United States have not lost to Mexico since September 2019.

The match also could determine seeding for the USMNT for next month’s Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals. Currently, the United States is third in the Concacaf rankings behind Mexico and Canada, but they have a chance to pass Canada if they win and Canada loses to Panama at home. They will also have to do it with 20 players, as 5 players – Christian Pulisic (load management), Weston McKennie, Ricardo Pepi, Marlon Fossey, and Zack Steffen (all small injuries) – were sent back to their clubs early for rest and recovery.

These matches are never friendly, and both teams will give it their all tonight. Tune in and join us for all the discussion!
