The Arizona Cardinals had a good opportunity to start their regular season with a win. However, they fell apart and lost 34-28 to the Buffalo Bills.
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray went 21-for-31 for 162 yards and a touchdown pass in the game. He also added 57 rushing yards on five carries but couldn’t secure the victory.
Despite being a full participant in practice for their Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, Murray appeared on the injury report with a knee ailment, reported NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Last year, Murray was recovering from a torn ACL. He made a strong return, throwing for 1,799 yards and 10 touchdowns and running for 244 yards and three touchdowns in eight games.
Arizona will face tough opponents in the Rams and Detroit Lions in the following weeks. They will rely on a fully healthy and productive Murray for a chance at victory.
The team will also need to involve rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. more after a quiet performance in the previous game.
On the defensive end, the Cardinals will need to improve after allowing multiple touchdowns to Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
