2026 World Cup Team Rankings Updated

The anticipation for the 2026 World Cup continues to grow, with 41 teams officially securing their spots alongside the three host nations, the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This leaves 22 teams vying for the remaining six slots in the tournament.

The allocation includes four final spots from Europe, which will be contested by 16 UEFA teams, with the remaining places filled by two from CONCACAF, and one each from Asia, Oceania, Africa, and South America, determined through intercontinental playoffs.

Initially, 209 teams entered the World Cup qualifying process in September 2023, but now only 64 teams remain in contention, each holding the potential to lift the trophy.

To rank these 64 teams, we utilize two metrics: the average estimated transfer value of players from each team’s latest roster, sourced from Transfermarkt, and the World Football Elo Ratings system, which adjusts points based on match outcomes, venue, opponent strength, and match competitiveness.
