Manchester United winger Antony was pictured on crutches following the club’s 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce.
United broke the deadlock 15 minutes in after Christian Eriksen fired home following a superb counter-attack. Eriksen’s goal was later cancelled out by a header from Youssef En-Nesyri, to ensure the points were shared between the two sides.
It could have been a lot worse for the Red Devils. Andre Onana pulled off a vital double save against En-Nesyri in the first half, while United also escaped a penalty scare following Manuel Ugarte’s challenge on Bright Osayi-Samuel—an incident that ultimately led to Jose Mourinho being sent off.
Erik ten Hag’s men have now drawn three times in as many Europa League matches this term.
In the 73rd minute, Ten Hag brought on Antony while United were searching for the winner. Antony replaced Marcus Rashford.
However, the Brazilian didn’t last too long on the pitch after he picked up an injury.
He received treatment and attempted to play through the pain barrier but it quickly became evident that he could not carry on.
The former Ajax forward signalled to the bench to substitute him and he was taken off on a stretcher.
It appears the issue may be serious if a picture published on X by talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook is anything to go by.
Crook posted an image of Antony on crutches while leaving the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Ten Hag spoke to club media and gave an update on the situation. The Dutch coach remarked, “It’s really unlucky for him. I feel real compassion for him, when he worked so hard in training.”
“His training performances are that good that he deserved to come on. When you have to come off so quickly, that is really sad to see.”
Ten Hag stated that more information will come to light in the next 24 hours, after Antony has been subjected to more thorough examinations.
