Update on Jimmy Butler’s Injury

Update on Jimmy Butler’s Injury

Heat star Jimmy Butler may have suffered a season-ending injury in Miami’s 105-104 loss to Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Miami’s top scorer may have injured his knee during the play-in game, as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

“Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is feared to have an MCL injury in his knee, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The injury could sideline Butler for an indefinite period. MRI to come,” Shams reported on X.

In the closing moments of the first half, Butler attempted a shot and collided with Sixers guard Kelly Oubre, resulting in a knee injury.

Jimmy was in pain on the floor after the collision but managed to continue playing, ending the game with 19 points, four rebounds, and five steals in 40 minutes.

He left the arena with a noticeable limp, raising doubts about his availability for the upcoming Elimination play-in game.

The Heat’s next opponent in the Elimination play-in game is yet to be determined, with Butler’s participation uncertain.

Jimmy expressed hope for his recovery, stating, “It felt like I couldn’t do too much, which sucks with the timing of the game and everything. I hope that I’m fine. I hope that I wake up tomorrow and can still stick-and-move. Right now, I can’t say that’s the case.”
