US Women’s National Team to finish 2024 with an away friendly against the Netherlands

USWNT to close out 2024 with road friendly against the Netherlands

The United States Women’s National Team will travel to The Hague for some soccer. Today, U.S. Soccer announced the USWNT, fresh off the gold medal win at the 2024 Olympics, will take on the Netherlands in a friendly on December 3rd at the ADO Den Haag Stadium in The Hague. Kickoff is set for 2:45pm ET with coverage on TNT, truTV, Universo, Max, and Peacock.

The match against the Dutch comes just a few days after the USWNT travel to Wembley Stadium in London to take on England. That match is set for November 30th. The two road matches will end a 2024 for the USWNT that saw them drop to their lowest ranking ever (5th) but, buoyed by the gold medal at the Olympics, returned to the #1 spot in the world rankings for the first time since July 2023.

The USWNT are 8W-1L-2D all-time in 11 previous appearances against the Dutch, who are currently ranked 11th in the world. The Dutch’s lone victory came on May 28, 1991 in the first ever appearance between the two teams. The two teams last met in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which was a 1-1 draw in the group stage in Wellington. The last match between the two teams in the Netherlands took place in November 2020, a 2-0 victory for the United States in Breda. The teams have also played at ADO Den Haag Stadium, a 15,000-seat stadium, in April 2013. That match was a 3-1 USWNT win.

“It was a fantastic summer for our team, and we’re going to take a lot of great lessons and memories from our time in France, but now we are looking forward to continuing our process,” said U.S. head coach Emma Hayes in a statement. “And in order for our team to keep learning and growing, and for the coaching staff to continue to evaluate players, we need to play the best teams possible. Playing matches in Europe against some of the world’s top teams will be an important part of our journey.”

It’s a strong way to finish out the year for the USWNT.
