USA Basketball Clarifies Decision to Omit Jalen Brunson from Olympics Roster

USA Basketball Clarifies Decision to Omit Jalen Brunson from Olympics Roster

Jalen Brunson, the star player for the Knicks, was notably absent from Team USA’s roster for the upcoming Paris Olympics.

During a conference call after the roster was announced, Team USA Basketball Men’s National Team managing director Grant Hill spoke highly of Brunson’s impressive season, suggesting he had almost played himself into the MVP conversation. Hill also expressed appreciation for Brunson’s contributions to the program in past years.

While acknowledging Brunson’s talent, Hill emphasized the importance of focusing on the 12 players who made the team rather than dwelling on those who did not. He mentioned the difficulty of making tough decisions and forming a cohesive team with the best-suited pieces.

Brunson, on the other hand, seemed unfazed by the omission, stating that he was solely focused on the playoffs and had not even checked the list of selected players.

With impressive regular season stats, including averaging 28.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists, Brunson is expected to play a key role in the Knicks’ championship aspirations.
